Nestled behind the hedge above the restaurant & winery, the fully renovated rustic homestead has become a sprawling family accommodation full of character & atmosphere.
The historic Clearview Homestead began life as a tobacco drying shed before becoming the family home of the Vidal family, circa 1915 as they established grapevines on this, their ‘No.2’ vineyard.
With an entertainer’s kitchen opening onto the dining, living rooms & deck, the gardens are private and sunny – it's also suited to smaller weddings & gatherings. The Homestead offers two bathrooms, two queen bedrooms, two double bedrooms & one twin single bedroom. The house suits varied groups, sleeping ten people easily.
The smaller rear two bedroom ‘Shearers' Quarters’, featuring Rimu native timber linings, can be rented & secured separately.
Enjoy a glass of Estate Chardonnay on the sunset deck in summer, or relax inside warmed in winter with a huge log fire, enjoying a book with a glass of Clearview Estate full bodied red wine.Make a booking
We are delighted to recommend this charming accommodation offered by one of our long-term partner growers. Set in its own boutique vineyard, Chambourcin Cottage offers lovely views over the vines to the Heretaunga Plains and the Kaweka Ranges beyond.
The cottage has vaulted ceilings and native timber features throughout, providing a warm and welcoming holiday experience. This beautifully appointed one bedroom cottage was featured in NZ House & Garden magazine.
The vineyard contributes several varieties we use to produce our wines, including the rare French hybrid variety Chambourcin, the name of the cottage and a major component in our hugely popular Black Reef Blush rosé.
Guests of the cottage will enjoy a ‘locals’ purchasing discount at our cellar door, and a complimentary glass of Clearview Estate wine when dining in our ‘Red Shed’ restaurant.Make a booking
