Community
Our community involvement includes:
- Support Maraetotara River Tree Trust
- Donations provided for many community events
- Support from kitchen staff and wine donations for local fundraising events for individuals in need as well as not for profit organisations eg: Nourished for Nil, fund raising dinner for local cancer survivor
- Where possible we use local manufacturers, suppliers & printers
- Glassware & Embroidery etching done locally
- T shirts used by staff and sold in cellar door printed locally
- Encourage our staff to participate in local beach clean ups and tree planting
- Our Head Chef Pete is working with our local Haumoana school and their ‘Garden to Table’ project
- We employ mainly locally, many are able to walk or cycle to work
- We supply the local school with seedlings for their Garden to Table project
- Proud supporters of Te Matau-a-Maui Art & Heritage Trail
- Support and promote the use of the local cycle ways
- Separate bike entrance & bike stands
- Tours of the vineyard and winery are offered, providing history of the area and the site itself
- Wine labels are all named after historical local events, geography & place names to associate the wine to the area: Coastal | Karaka | Two Pinnacles | Black Reef |Beachhead | Cape Kidnappers
- Promote local tourism ventures through cellar door & wait staff
