Reserve Chardonnay 2001

14.5% alc

The low crops experienced in 2001 have produced one of the best `Reserves’ Clearview has ever produced - the balance of fruit, acid, oak and flavours is impeccable, whilst maintaining the huge power that is Clearview’s trademark.

Hand harvested at 24-25ºBrix, 40% of the grapes were given 6-10 hours skin contact, the rest were whole bunch pressed before the free run juice was fermented in new French (95%), and American oak and aged for 11 months. This wine is huge with a luscious creamy texture, beautifully ripe tropical and stone-fruit characters and a backbone of toast oak. This is a wine of substantial body that will develop for many years.

Maximum cellaring up to 10 years.
