2015 En Primeur Wine Offer

Our annual En Primeur offer is a chance for you to get your hands on some very special wines, at very special prices before they are released.

We are offering our Reserve Chardonnay from the superb 2014 vintage.  We thought the 2013 vintage was great, but 2014 is just as good, if not better!

We are also offering our 2013 Enigma; definitely a wine to watch and worth cellaring.

2014 Reserve Chardonnay – En Primeur Price - $31 (normally $36)

From the fantastic 2014 vintage, big, bold and luscious with loads of stone fruit characters and a delicious creamy caramel nose. Well integrated oak with a balanced yet complex palate. Vibrant powerful fruit and oak characters in its youth develop into more subtle toast and cream notes as the wine matures over several years. Drink now for a fruit driven style or cellar until 2020.

FOOD SUGGESTION: Crayfish and seafood with rich sauce

ACCOLADES:  Consistently a gold medal winner - the previous 2013 vintage won GOLD medals at:
  • Air New Zealand Wine Awards 2014
  • New Zealand International Wine Show 2014
  • 5 stars - WINESTATE magazine 2014

2013 Enigma – 5 stars – En Primeur Price - $49 (normally $55)

This is our Merlot predominant ‘Reserve’ label.  From the incredible and much anticipated 2013 vintage comes this voluptuous and alluring red wine. This wine ranks amongst the best reds ever produced in our history.  A blend of three grape varieties, the flavours of plum, sweet spicy cassis, mint and earthy violets combine with long fine-grained tannins and sweet oak.

FOOD SUGGESTION: Venison, beef or lamb

««WINESTATE magazine review - Clearview Enigma 2013 ««
Dense, classy Hawke's Bay blend of Merlot (80 percent), Malbec (10 percent) and Cabernet Franc (10 percent), grown at Te Awanga and matured in French and American oak barriques. A powerful, sturdy (14.5 percetn alc/vol) wine, it has bold, youthful blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, with hints of nuts and coffee, and ripe, fine-grained tannins.  Savoury, complex and notably concentrated, it should be long-lived.

En Primeur Super Special Offer - 12 bottle case for only $199 (normally $300)

Reserve Sauvignon Gris 2013
Sauvignon Gris is an ancient variety from Bordeaux that is very similar to its more famous cousin Sauvignon Blanc, but as the name suggests it has pinkish grey skins. The 2013 Reserve Sauvignon Gris is characterised by its fresh limey acidity, coupled with aromas of white peach and hints of ripe melon.
