2015 En Primeur - Accolades & Awards

2014 Cape Kidnappers Syrah - $25
This is our first with 100 percent Te Awanga grown fruit. We have made this wine to be approachable in its youth but kept enough structure so that cellaring will also be beneficial. We believe the style of this wine is reminiscent of the appellations of the Northern Rhone with exceptional aromatic qualities but marked with Hawke’s Bay black pepper and a wonderful underlying backbone of acidity.

2013 Reserve Syrah - $40
The 2013 is only our second Reserve Syrah to be released. Hawke’s Bay has become renowned as one of the top regions for Syrah, with flavours and a style unique to its terroir. This wine is no exception, made with selectively picked fruit. Matured in seasoned oak barriques, it exhibits fragrant violets, highly concentrated black-berry, spice and a hint of black pepper, with a seasoning of finely textured smoky oak.
2014 Haumoana Pinot Gris - $22
Our Pinot Gris grapes were sourced from two blocks: on the gravel banks of the Tuki Tuki River in neighbouring Haumoana and on the coast adjacent to Clearview’s main vineyards. The juice from the hand-picked grapes was fermented and aged in seasoned oak barrels prior to bottling. The wine exhibits varietal aromas of white blossom and fresh pears. The palate is silky with an oily richness, providing excellent weight and texture.

2014 Beachhead Chardonnay - $25
A powerful wine, exhibiting many of the characters seen in our prestigious Reserve. Aromas of citrus blossom highlight the white-fleshed nectarine flavours on the palate, all underpinned by warming, toasty oak. This is a rich, creamy, mealy and voluptuous wine.
